This is a Kyodai(vanity mirror) from around early 1,900s (mirror is much older than vanity)coated on urushi including inside of drawers with fabulous makie techniques.It has a detachable stand on top to support the ko-kyo(Old style copper hand mirror). Interestingly,the stand for mirror is stored prefectly on the top compartment and easily can be inserted 2 holes on top. This has 4 different size of drawers to store various make-up tool.The mirror has unqiue design which are tiger surronded by auscpicous motifs and there is an artist's name on side.It comes with fine cover which has wonderful,uma-zukushi, horse patterns. Hardwares on the drawers,traditional joineries,fabulous elegant pictures handdrawn on the front,all are doen in full details,so please enjoy all details on more pictures. Due to use and age,coatings came off and the corner and rims are chipped and some joinneries are slid off,and have some spaces,also there are scratches and stains,and the cover of mirror is worn out,but all are sweet history which some woman left!
