This is a wooden hand towel hanger coated on urushi dated around 1,920s.It has fine bars across, and there are 2 levels to hang towels. We had hand towels called 'tenugui'old days and used to hang them on this next to washing basins. There are beautiful cranes drawn by hand on the bottom panels which look fantastic on black. Due to use and age, some coating specially around the rims and corners came off,and there are some scratches, metals are rusty and noticeable dent inside of middle bar,but it functions perfectly and as a whole it is in good condition. This will be wonderful practical piece to hang your towels in the bathroom or even jewerly,textiles...you name it!
