This is a lantern used in Buddhist altar dated around 1,900s.It consists of 3 parts.The roof has fine shape like flower on the rims and below has beautiful opening for air and middle part has windows with also elegant flowers and the hinged door opens nicely to access inside.There is a removable tray on the middle.The base is made really thick to stablize construction.(Inside is hollowed out) Please enjoy all details on more pictures. Due to age and material, it is getting rusty and colors start to change and there are some scratches,stains,and inside tray got darken from candles,and originally,there were papers on the windows,also to stablize the roof,the back of roof has 3 pins,but there are only 2 pins(it is totally fine even they are only 2),but as a whole it is in very good condition. This handsome piece fits well into many styled interiors, or even outside garden with candle inside and is a fine example of Japanese art! *Please understand in advance that some powders from lantern might come out during transportation.
