This is a ko-tansu,small tansu to store books for Naga-uta dated around mid.1,900s.Naga-uta is traditional singing to samisen accompaniment and inside has removable 7 shelves to store them prefectly. It is so practical shelves can be takenthem out,so even thick books can be stored and have additional drawer on the bottom. Floral shaped hinges with tasseles on the doors,traditional joineries,stunning wooden grains,all are done in full details. Please enjoy all details on more pictures. Due to age and material,there is a split on the side and around nails and there are some patina speically on the back and some stains,scratches,dents,but as a whole it is in very good condition. This will be wonderful to have for your office!
