This is a suzuri bako(writing box for calligraphy) made of fine Kokutan,ebony dated around 1,940s or earlier.Every corners have triditional joineries,and rims are nicely made.It looks so simple,but done in full details,and it is nice to have additinal removable tray inside and it has beautiful old paper glued since it is getting worn out. Please enjoy all on more pictures. Due to use and age,there are ink stains,scratches,additional wooden plate inside and the bottom is worn out,but as a whole it is in very good condition. This handsome piece will be perfect for your office!
