This is a modern O-uchiwa,big fan from one of the finest department store,Takashimaya dated Showa 42(1,967) and other is newer. This fan have been presented every year with different designs to special regular customer and wealthy family kept them every year and sometimes they come to our market. In Japan, special customers of department store is called 'gaisho', and becoming 'gaisho' customers of Takashimaya and other top-ranking department store has been one of the social status. This is printed on fine paper and one of the picture is Chikyo Ono(1892-1974). They come with a hook to place fan and come in paper box. There are some patina specially on the back of bamboo uchiwa and small stain on the other one and the box is worn out a lot and hook is getting frazzled,but as a whole it is in very good condition. This will be wonderful wall decoration!
