This is a set of 5 wooden trays carved by hand dated around 1,930s.This special carving is called Sanuki-bori,Sanuki carving which is made in Kagawa prefecture of Shikoku. It is required applying urushi many times over wonderful carving. It has writings on the box 'Shikishi-gata'which means square piece of paperboard for writing poems or painting pictures,so they are shaped in great squares with amazing details. One of the corner are folded nicely and carved using differnt angles to make fantastic textures,so none of them are same. Please enjoy all details on more pictures. It comes in original signed wooden box. There are slight scratches,and one of the tray placed on top is discolorated and some flaws on the box,but as a whole it is in very good condition. This set has charming mingei,folklore touch and will be great eye-catching home decor!
