This is a high-end Kyodai(vanity mirror) from around 1,930s made of pualownia inside and handsome ebony wood outside which have fabulous grains throughout.
Because it is high-end,it has paulownia family crest in the middle and this mirror part is detachable and mirror itself is adjustable.(the bottom of mirror can be just slowly slid out and lift as you see in the pictures).Amazingly,the back of mirror and the bottom are also made of ebony,so it can be displayed in the center of your room!
Handles are made in the shape of piece of pine and
drawers come in 4 different sizes to store various tools.The front of drawers are made of ebony and inside paulownia wood is ideal to store anything.
Drawers are made of excellent joineries and many joineries are done without using single nails or glues.
There is an original sticker of store in Osaka on the bottom which indicates that bride brought this from her house when she got married.

It has some stains,scractches around the rims and hairline cracks on the sides due to removing mirror,and one on the back and some joineries are slightly getting separated,also hardwares are rusty,and the bottom drawer can not open it no matter how hard we try,,,,,(wood gets tight because of wood character and age),but it should be possible to open somehow,,,and considering its age,it is in very good condition.
This kyodai is so different,exceptional and perfect to add to your collections!!!!! |
