This ranma is a handcarved wooden transom which is rectangular opening, longer in the horizontal direction,constructed between the lintels of the frame for sliding screens and the ceiling, also be found at the interior of a dwelling, under the ridges of a gate, on a fence for above the main entrance.This is from around mid. to late1,900s.Originally,it is a pair with ranma No.508070.
This inside frame is nicely carved and give appealing definition and elegance to it having one of the most powerful and auspicious symbols for the Japanese which are love, happiness and longevity.
There is a thick pine tree coming out from the middle and branches of pine stretch out nicely and handsome bamboo on the right.Finely trimed corners of frames,two tones wooden colors which give fantastic contrast each other,all details are so striking and done carefully by high skill,also, this is done by traditional joineries.PLESE enjoy all on more pictures!It has some scrathces,stains,but no major damages and as a whole it is in very good condition.
This is versatile ranma which can be seen from both sides and will be wonderful home decor for your empty wall! |
