This is a set of 5 wooden bowls coated on one of the most famous urush,Wajima dated around 1,920s. It is decorated with unqiue motif of wasabi root!(It is not carrot! We grind this root and become that green hot wasabi for sushi!) Wasabi is only grown in beautiful river and supposed to have auspicious meaning?! Some leaves are coated with Nashiji which is transparent and yellowish and is prepared by mixing gamboge or gardenia pods with transparent urushi of good quality. Textures of wasabi are in rise with lines and really beautifully made just like real.The back of them have charming shellfishes,so please enjoy all details on more pictures. Due to use and age,some inside bowls are discolorated and some are warped and there are slight scratches,but considering their age,there are not any chips or dents and it is in a really good condition. Have you ever seen Wasabi motif before???!!!
