This is a No-Bento,wooden picnic lunch box coated on urushi dated around late 1,900s,should be earlier.
Every piece is decorated with elegant ivy which patterns perfecly match drawn by hand carefully.
Small stacking boxes come in all different sizes and the bottom box has nice cover and hole on the corner which is used as a water container.
4 large stacking boxes also come with the cover.
Because they are fine peice, inside are coated with gorgeous Nashiji which is transparent and yellowish and is prepared by mixing gamboge or gardenia pods with transparent urushi of good quality.
Handpainted ivy, fine golden powderly details inside, gently curved corners, all are done in full details,so please enjoy all on more pictures!
It comes in an orignal wooden case and has 2 holes on the back to push them out easily.
Due to age and use, there are a few chips and coatings came off aroudn the rims and slight scratches, and there might be trays since there are some spacse on top of boxes, also original box is extremely worn out and falling apart, but lunch boxes have not cracks and considering its age, this set is in good condition.
