This is a set of fantastic wooden trays coated on urushi dated around 1,970s. This specical carvings are called Ujo-bori,lacquered wood carving wich maintains the natural characteristics of wood while highlighting the smooth texture of lacquer coating and age and use bring out the quality of them and these traditional crafts began as high quality wood and lacquer have been found in the mountains in Okayama prefecture. They are decorated with fruits which are carved so realistically! and the colors,unique textures,all are done on fabulous textures which look like water floating!!! The rims have nice grooves and there are so much details on them,so please enjoy all details on more pictures. It comes in an original signed wooden box. Samller tray around the rim is slightly damaged,and there are some scrathces,but they are really in good conditions. They can be displayed on the wall or great serving tray!
