This container dated around 1,930s is Itto-masu which was used to measure rice (round bar was used to make it even on top after putting rice as it is shown on the picutures).It has wonderful stamps and logo of manufacturer and it is from Kyoto prefecture. The bar has so many charming stamps on both ends and it is from Nagoya which might be added later. This is made out of thick cypress wood cut into pieces to make it around connected by metal frames. Please enjoy all details on more pictures. Due to age and heavy use,and frames are getting rusty,and there are some scratches,stains,and got darken,but all are sweet history and as a whole it is in very good condition.This has very firm construction,so it will be ideal as a planter,storage for magazines.
