This is a set of 2 Joruri book dated around early 1,900s. This book is used at the traditional performing arts of Kabuki and ningyo joruri (puppet play) by men who chant the tales with music. Chanters usually have emotional tone which add great flows to the dramas. Amazingly,this book is all HAND WRITTEN by using method of Maru-moji which is calligraphic writing with rounded characters. It consists of 37 and 50 pages with handsome covers and titles. Due to use,both have some flaws,there are patina,stians,holes and outside covers are worn out,but as a whole it is in very good condition. Again,beautiful and artistic writings are just incredible and definitly will be fantastic accent on your coffee table!
