This is a large Bon,tray to put tea utensiles made by artist,Soun dated around mid.1,900s.This special carving is called Sanuki-bori,Sanuki carving which is made in Kagawa prefecture of Shikoku. It is required applying urushi many times over wonderful carving. This has a fantastic cricket staying on the leaf of flower.They are carved on the wood,so the areas where they are carved show stunning natural wooden colors.Because it is beautifully done,we could hear as if a cricket were chirping!!! and unique part of this is that leaves are hanging down and the cricket is settling on it! The rims are finely trimed with lines and colored in red.Please enjoy all details on more pictures! It is signed on the tray and comes in an original wooden box. The piece of wood in the box inside came off,and it has slight scratches,but other than these,the tray does not have any prominet flaws. This comes in large size and will be the best eye catching home decor for sure!
