This is a fabulous large Musha Ningyo,samurai dolls displayed at the time of the Boys' Festival on May 5 to celebrate the healthy growth and development of boys dated Bunsei 7(1,824).
Thes doll is Taiko Hideyoshi who is one of the most popluar doll for boy's day.

Because this is really fine doll made in Edo,the face is done by togidashi techinique which require so many processes ;therefore,the face have fantastic glow!!!
He is fully armed carrying own accessories on the sides in stunning layers of incredible costumes.
He has paulwonia patterns on kimono which is Toyotomi's family crest and large creat on his chest.
There are fantastic shishi on every bottom of golden protections.He has gorgeous sword which can sheathe his sword just like a real one,and incredible baton of command on the other hand.
All metalworks,stunning facial expression,gorgeous cotumes,it is so hard to describe this majestic look,so PLESE enjoy every details on more pictures!
It comes in an original beautiful wooden box.
Due to age(This is seriouslly OLD!!!),there is one noticeable line across on his upper nose and there are slight lines on his face,and there are some patina,stains,holes and some small metalworks are missing and metal gets rusty,and his most of hairs are gone and coatings came off,but considering its age,this is in excellent condition.
This super rare doll will definitly great to add to your doll collections! |
