This ranma set is a handcarved wooden transoms dated around mid.1,900s which are rectangular opening, longer in the horizontal direction,constructed between the lintels of the frame for sliding screens and the ceiling, also be found at the interior of a dwelling, under the ridges of a gate, on a fence for above the main entrance.
Different from regular ranma,instead of carving,these designs are cut-out in the wooden panel.
There is a charming sparrow flying in the bamboo trees which have perfect balance on the gorgeous aged wooden patina, and the way bamboo leaves flow from right to left are just so elegant.All details are so striking done by high skill and this is done by perfect traditional joinerieshe frames.PLESE enjoy all on more pictures!
There are some scrathces,stains,small hole,and cut-out bamboo leaves got separated and black coatings came off,and some flaws around the rims and corners,but as a whole it is in very good condition.
This set will be wondeful wall decoration for sure! |
