This is an original woodblock printed picture from Yoshitora Utagawa dated Meiji.
Yoshitora Utagawa was born in Edo,but neither the dates of his birth nor his death are known and he was a student of the famous ukiyo-e artist Kuniyoshi and has another name Mousai which are sigen on these prints. He was a Japanese printmaker with a wide spectrum of subjects, but he is best known for Yokohama-e - prints depicting Westerners from the enclave of Yokohama and their technological achievements like iron ships, hot air balloons or locomotives and there are slight influence of outside!(look at instersting tower with colorful stained glass!?)
It has a title,Kinpeiro Zasseino-zu.Kinpeirou is located in Yoshiwara in Edo and there are many oiran house and this is one of them and it was popular to draw lively Yoshiwara in Meiji and zessei means golden age,so this is a oiran in golden age.
There are 9 gorgeous orina lining up and there are their names written on top next to title.
Every oiran wears incredible kimono and their patterns, accessories on the hairs, hair styles, wonderful different facial expressions, architectural details on the back, and they are filled with amazing details.
There are beautiful hanging lanterns on top and they are lite in pink which match fully bloomed sakura trees. It is full moon in spring,so they must be enjoying viewing sakura.
Wonderful carpet, amazing tabbaco tray and piple, can not decraibe all,so please enjoy all on more pictures.
Due to age, there are some patina, stains, holes and
the rims are worn out(the rims between sheets can be margin of paper left for laying another sheets)
,but it still have incredible touch with Meiji colors and details.
This will be great wall decoration for sure!!! Trust me!
