This fabulous wooden carving is a part of Danjiri cart used in Danjiri festival in Osaka dated around 1,930s. Danjiri is large wooden carts in the shape of a shrine or temple and decorated with magnificent wooden carvings. This has gorgeous samurai riding a horse at the battle field surrounded by pine trees.He raises his one arm so high holding a weapon and probably giving an command on ther other hand. Riding a horse,his mane and tail move vividly and muscular body is just stunning.Their lively facial expressions,armor,all are done in full details. Please enjoy all details on more pictures. Because it was a part of carving,the ends are cut off and missing,also there are some chips,cracks and has some flaws,but it still has wonderful vivid touch.
