This dramatic container is made of one wood(hard to specify what kind of wood) dated around 1,960s.(wood itself is much older than this). Originally,this must be used as flower vase or brazier having inside hollowed out. This wood is coated on urushi and finely finished and has amazing knots everywhere(even from the back!).It has shining colors with many tamamoku textures,jewelry of wood which means many compricated knots like rings.It is cut from the burl of the tree and grained wood like this is considered extremely valuable,used almost exclusively in high-end pieces!)done by nauture throught the ages. No matter where you look it,it is just exceptional object.Please enjoy all details on more pictures. There are some scratches and due to material,it has slight cracks,also slight chips around the rims,but as a whole it is in very good condition. This will be great planter,or just one of a kind art piece!
