This is a Cho-chin(folding paper lantern) probably Goshinou dated around late 1,800s.
Goshintou is used at shrine as offering lantern which has the name of person and sometimes with family crest who donated them. This has a family crest of plum and other one is with the number of two.
Both sides are decorated with fabulous dragons and top and bottom have opening for air circulation with hinge and original holder to place an candle inside.
The bottom part also has stunning leaf shaped hardwares and all have fantastic details.
Due to age and use,it is really worn out a lot, papers are no longer attached and most of coatings around the rims are gone, decorations are bent, due to material, copper are really rusty and get greener, anda part of hinge came off,and some flaws throughout, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
Hanging these will be fantastic home decor!
