This is an original 2 sheets woodblock print of one scerne from well- known story,Taokouki,biography of Hideyoshi Toyotomi dated Meiji 16(1,883) done by an artist,Toyonobu Utagawa (1859-1886).
This picture has 2 most famous samurai,Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Ieyasu Tokugawa.
It is taken place on the bridgein Okazaki where Ieyasu was raised.
Hidseyoshi was called 'Hiyoshi-maru' during his childhood and Ieyasu was called'Take-chiyo'.
This picture is drawn good comparison between two and they don't know yet what will happen in their futures in this moment...Hideyoshi being so poor on the left is playing and Ieyasu from wealthy family is on the right in the cart with servant.Ieyasu on this picture is 12 yeas old and when Hideyoshi become his age,he decided to get a job as taking care of shoes(He puts boss's shoes when he goes out) which is written on top.Hideyoshi come rushing out playin so hard,so one of the servant of Ieyasu has to stop not to bother him.
Beautiful scenery in Okazaki,wonderful customes,stuning facial expressions,beautiful frame around the picture,all are just breath taking,so please enjoy all details on more pictures!!!
There are 2 tiny holes,but other than this,considering its age,this is in almost perfect condition.
This is so unique and if you like Japanese history,this will be nice to add to your collections!
