This is a Kaki(Flower vase),used for flower arrangement datad around early 1,900s. Not like regular elegant flower vase, this has extermely unusual theme. There is sweet boy, maybe karako doing acrobatic pose on top.He holdes on tight the rim of vase on both hands and make beautiful curve touching his own head by feet.Below vase, there is samurai holding vase firmly. His eye meet boy's eye and smile each other. He puts pillow under his head to stablize his pose. His hands and cross-legged are designed as legs of vase.He has a folding fan and both look as if they are totally fine doing such a difficult pose.Smurai's kind of comical facial expression and wrinkles of kimono, nice funodoshi(kind of underware),hairly body, all are so enjoyable and all are really unusually designed. The vase is finely widen toward the top and deocarated with 3 line on the body. PLEASE enjoy all detials on more pictures!!! Due to age and material,it gets rusty and gained fantastic aged patina throughout and there are some scratches,a few areas are worn out including the rims of inside from water, but as a whole it is in very good condition. I have never seen interesting vase like this and it is definitly marvelous home decor!
