This is a pair of wooden carving used at the corner below celing dated around mid.1,900s. It is made out of one of the finest Japanese wood,Keyaki,zelkova which shows fabulous wooden grain throughout. It has imposing tiger with bamboos. Tiger looks like coming out from bamboo bush making great curve on the back. He opens the mouth showing fangs and body is covered with rich hairs.They are in the nice frame and it could ne seen from any angels since they are below ceiling.Please enjoy all details on more pictures. Because keyaki is very hard wood,there are some cracks and there are some stains,but as a whole it is in very good condition. This will be fantastic accent piece for your entrance,eaves,can be anywhere!!!
