This is a set of 10 bowls coated on urushi with makie techinique dated around late 1,800s.Every covers has stunning E-gawari,various design from scenes of noh stage and these maginificent pictures are drawn by hand one by one carefully. There are Nami-usagi,rabbit hopping above waves,Takasago scenery, religious motifs, etc, and all have individual meanings. There are Tuzumi (Japanese drum) and flute on the side of every bowls. It is incredible that there are SO MUCH going on this small cover!!!PLEASE enjoy every details on more pictures! They originally come in wooden boxes, but as it is shown,it is worn out a lot,so we don't include the box. There are some chips and scratches around the rims, and there are some stains, also one slight crack on the rim of bowl, also inside are slightly discolorated and a few bowls are warped which make cover uneven when they close, but considering the age and use, this set is in a very good conditions. This set is so exceptional and definitly great to add to your urushi colloctions! Trust me! |
