This is a set of bamboo baskets dated early 1,900's.Originally, this interesting rectangular baskets are used as a serving basket for fish. The rims and cover of the large basket is reinforced with additional woven like ropes bamboos tied them around to the frames. They are woven wonerfully using different sizes and colors of bamboos intricatelly. Both have charming large rounded handles on both sides. They look so simple, but excellent detail throughout which are done by skilled craftsmanship on beautiful aged color. Many thin bamboos are damaged, missing and getting weak being bent around corners and rims, some parts came off(the frame on the bottom is attached with wires),and there are patina, stains, and scratches, some nails are missing, due to use and age, there are some flaws throughtout, but as a whole it is in very good condition. This will be sweet for small planters, papers!
