This is a Koro(incense burner) used for Japanese tea ceremony dated late 1,900's and from one of the famous pottery, Kutani(Located in Ishikawa prefecture). The cover is intricatelly opened for incense to come out and the base on top has wonderful designs like butterfry.The leg has zig-zag opening which has excellent details. All are colored in emerald green with charming accent colores. It has a stamp Kutani on the bottom. There are some stains and line inside(This is not a crack),but as a whole it is in very good condition. This will be fabulous accent piece for your home!
