This bear is from Hokkaido(Northern part of Japan) used to be carved by Ainu tribe.The carving is in traditional art for them,usually carving with captured wild salmon in their mouth and all are done by hands carefully.This is a set of mother and child .This adorable child sits on the rock and looking down.She stands imposingly,puts her right foot firmly,graps a wild salmon maybe just came out from the river. Their facial expression,a coat of fur,huge hands, and scales of fish,all are in full details.There are scratches,and some colors are coming off,also due to hard wood,there are slight cracks,but as a whole it is in very good condition and this will be mingei-touch art piece for your home decor!
