This is a wooden stand called `daiza'coated on urushi to display Buddha on top dated early 1,900's. The pedestal or dais upon which a Buddhist image is placed. The type of pedestal is related to the type of image it supports as well as the period in which it was made. There are 4 gorgeous windows in gold on red and corners and hems are decorated with fabulous metalworks which have fine ivy carving throughout. The top is finished in black and looks so graceful on red.Ther coatings and colors are coming off specially around the hems and some are chipped, also, some air got inside of urushi, but as a whole it is in very good condition. This can be in the middle of the room since all sides are finished and will be perfect to display your art object!
