This is Cho-Tansu(small merchant box, used to place on the desk to store stationery at store with lockplates) made of cypress with copper harwares dated around early 1,900s.There are 3 different sizes of large drawers with 2 small ones on top and 2 rounded locklates are so handsome. All joints have dovetail joints. Due to use and age,it is worn out a lot, harwares are getting rusty and a few nails are attached for reinforcement, and there are scratches, stains, flaws being used over yeras, but all are sweet history and as a whole,it is in very good condition due to age and use. This will be perfect to store small things like stationery, jewelry or artisan material or nice small side table!
