China(Ceramicand porcelain) in Japan has a history of 12,000 years with a strong influence of China.During Edo period(1600-1868) techinolory improved raidly because of cherrish of tradtional arts such as tea ceremony,flower arrangement and these works of flower vases, tes utensiles were appreciated for high art.
Representative ceramics are Shigaraki ware from Shiga and Bizen ware from Okayama; among porcelains, Imari ware from Saga Prefecture and Kutani ware from Ishikawa are famous.
