For a long time from the emergence of Ningyo(Doll) figures are about 6,000 years ago in Jyomon period.,ningyo was only used as sacred objects of talismans made out of clay or wood.During Edo period,crafts of making doll were at the heigh by having special festivals likeHina-ningyo on girl's day and Musya-ningyo on boy's day.
Ningyo are made as specilalities of certian famous regions as Kamo, Nara, Saga,and Kokeshi ningyo originated in the Tohok northern region of Honshu the main island.
